Recen’ Adventures in Blighty… Cambridgeshire/ Northumberland/ London, UK πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Β

I thought it would be bloody hilarious to write a blog post in Cockney Rhyming Slang after talking about it with kids at school. Unfortunately, the Cock-Slang dictionary I ordered hasn’t arrived.

Earlier this month I lemon-pivoted my way into the later twenties, despite the spots of rust my skates are beginning to sprout. Sazlack decorated her apartment for me; which ultimately confused the hell out of her neighbour, who upon finding balloons in the corridor rushed inside to write a pre-bought birthday card addressed to Sarah. I watched Eurovision for the first and last time in my life, and we visited Ferry Meadows to cheer on fisherman with beer and caramel cocktails (what a delightful mix).

Towards the end of April I sat on dogs so that Mum and Dad could escape to the cliff sides of Italy. They came back very brown while I remained a fat, veiny milk bottle. I don’t even care. I’m pleased to say that not all physical activity ground to a halt, as the mutts had me up and out of the house by 7.30AM most days.

Figure skating has become my go to hobby, gobbling up time on Monday evenings and Friday afternoons. One of which I enjoy far more than the other, but both of which were necessary in learning how to stop without crashing.

Last weekend, I was given an opportunity to prove to my little brother that I’m no longer a liability when driving. Guy and his girlfriend, Becca, have now successfully relocated to London. And we celebrated that with a lot of wine and takeaways.

SIDE NOTE: Udderbelly and Wonderground are now one and the same event. Search Underbelly for lists of cheapo events or head down to Southbank for a drink in the fairy lit trees.

What’s next? I’ve been promoted at work πŸ™Œ I’m now responsible for the education of two year 7 students, which is both providing excellent experience to put towards my PGCE and going a long way to stabilising my self confidence. Friday is the start of a week long holiday, but then I’ll be returning to complete the academic year on a higher wage. Hoorah!

I’m planning to spend the summer holidays with Mum and Dad in Northumberland as I’d like to check out Newcastle as a potential move following my PGCE and… well, because Mum and Dad are awesome.

If anyone has anything to persuade me to/ dissuade me from moving to Newcastle, please feel free to shout about it in the comments belooooooow.
